A Canadian inspection company since 1987

Inter-Mountain Testing carries out non-destructive testing and wire rope inspection from a base in Kelowna, British Columbia. The company has been doing this work since 1987.

Who we are

Field inspection, in-house

Our technicians, our equipment, our reports. Keeping the work in-house is what lets us stand behind the findings and keep the same people returning to the same assets.

We work across snowsport, mining, shipping and transportation, manufacturing and fabrication, and for insurers who need an independent technical view of asset condition. Some clients call us once for a specific concern; others run a scheduled programme with us across a whole fleet of equipment.

Either way, the approach is the same: agree the scope and criteria first, inspect to a procedure, and put the results in writing.

Core values

What we hold ourselves to

  • Safety first, always

Our work exists so that other people can operate equipment safely. That standard applies to our own crews before it applies to anyone else.

  • Technical honesty

We report what we found and what it means, including when the answer is inconvenient or when a method cannot detect what a client hoped it would.

  • Independence

We do not have a stake in the outcome of an inspection. Our value to an owner, a regulator or an insurer depends on that staying true.

  • Craft and continuity

Non-destructive testing rewards experience. Working the same disciplines since 1987 means judgement built on a long record of assets seen in service.

  • Clear communication

Reports are written to be read by the people who have to act on them, not only by other inspectors.

  • Local commitment

Kelowna is home. We are accountable in the communities and industries we work in across the Okanagan and beyond.

Standards and safety programmes we work within

  • CSACSA Group standards
  • CCOHSCanadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
  • WorkSafeBCBritish Columbia workplace regulator
  • AvettaContractor prequalification network
