Wire rope inspection and condition assessment
Wire rope degrades from the inside out. We combine electromagnetic testing with detailed visual inspection so the condition of the whole rope, not just its surface, is on record.

Scope of work
What a rope inspection covers
Scope is set with you before we mobilise, based on the rope type, its duty and the standard or manufacturer requirement you are working to.
Electromagnetic testing
Non-destructive electromagnetic inspection along the full rope length to detect broken wires, corrosion and loss of metallic area that a visual pass cannot reach.
Detailed visual inspection
Close visual examination of the rope surface, lay length, crown wear, deformation, lubrication condition and areas of concentrated bending.
Terminations and end fittings
Assessment of splices, sockets, swaged fittings, clips and attachment hardware, including the transition zones where damage tends to concentrate.
Sheaves, drums and rope path
Review of the components the rope runs on, since groove wear and misalignment often explain the damage found in the rope itself.

Reporting
What you receive afterwards
Every inspection ends with a written report: the method used, the locations examined, the indications found and their position along the rope, and our assessment against the acceptance criteria in force.
Where we find something that needs action, we say so plainly and reference the criterion it fails. Where a rope is serviceable, the report records that too, so you have a documented baseline for the next interval.
